Way listed 28 lifetime proofs (Goulding printed 40 posthumous impressions on December 11, 1903). Printed on fine ivory laid paper. Signed with the butterfly in the stone and in pencil. $6,500.
This image of Parisian whitesmiths, or tinsmiths, at work was drawn in a narrow cul-de-sac near the Luxembourg Gardens, just a few blocks from Whistler's studio on rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs, in July, 1894.
