Trial proof with the sky reqorked again; light areas now in place at upper left and right, lowe left and right, and between peaks the sky dark at upper center and above small peak, area above large peak shaded, but not heavily. Signed and annotated "trial proof" and 'imp' in pencil, indicating a proof printed by the artist. $275.
The exact location of the scene is unknown. Possibly it is near Killin (Cill Fhinn 'the White [or Fair] Church' in Gaelic) is a village situated at the western head of Loch Tay in Stirling (formerly Perthshire), Scotland.
