Hardie writes, "The Thames, looking towards Waterloo Bridge and St. Paul's from Hungerford Bridge. The columns of the Lion Brewery, with the lion at the top, are on the right; barges on the mud below. (Some artistic license has been employed, as St. Paul's Cathedral, visible from the middle of Hungerford Bridge, is hidden behind the Lion Brewery from the point of view of the etching."
