As published in Engravings by Eric Gill Douglas Cleverdon, Birmingham, England, 1929. Printed on cream wove paper. Letterpress verso: BEHOLD, O KIND AND MOST sweet Jesus, I cast myself on my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul, I pray and beseech Thee that Thou wouldst impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope & charity, with true repentance for my sins, & a firm desire for amendment, while with deep affection and frienf of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five most precious wounds, having before my eyes that which David spake in prophecy: 'They pierced My hands and My fee; they have numbered all My bones.' Say also five times the Our Father and Hail Mary, for the Pope and for the Church.' Unsigned. $400.
