[View of the Kagermeer]. c. 1785. Ink and watercolor on paper. 3 1/2 x 5 1/4. Unsigned. Excellent condition on cream laid paper, tipped onto a backing sheet at the top corners. Annotated "Tavernier" verso, and "Hendr. Tavernier" on the mount. A delightful composition. Tavenier (Tavernier) worked extensively in the Netherlands, where he did many waterviews.$1,250.
