Hardie writes, "Highland troops of the 7th Division are lying concealed among the withered barley in No-man's-Land, on the maritime plain near Jelil, close to the wired Turkish redoubts seen on the ridge to the right. They are waiting in moonlight for the Bombardment (see 'Zero') to open before dawn."
