Illustrated: Illustrated: Salaman, Modern Masters of Etching ; Fine Prints of the Year, 1924. Printed on French 1740 antique cream laid paper. Trimmed to the image, as is usual with this etching. With the DHP (Dover House Press) stamp verso. Signed in pencil. $2,000.
Griggs wrote to Reginald Hine, "The paper Potter's Bow is printed on is some I bought (enough for a whole edition) at Avignon. It is a fine French paper of 1740 and wonderfully preserved. No other paper would please the plate -- in fact it was downright petulant about it." (Comstock, page 150).
