Signed and annotated "Trial" and "to light" by the artist in pencil. The model for this portrait was the wood engraver, Marquett, whose portrait Brockhurst had etched in 1921 (Fletcher 27). $575.
Marquette, a wood engraver, is also the sitter in An Old Corsican. Brockhurst is reputed to have completed this plate in two hours
