Tedeschi, Stratis and Spink write, p. 23: This light-filled image of houses on Lindsey Row was drawn near the two residences (at 7 and then 2 Lindsey Row) that Whistler had occupied before he moved into the White House on Tite Street in October 1878. Thesmall trees and overhanging branch appear to be in blossom, suggesting that the drawing was made in spring or early summer.
