Printed on antique blue-green laid paper with a F and AGL countermark. Signed 'Mary Cassatt' in pencil. $13,500.
Hélène de Septeuil was the daughter of an inkeeper in the town of Septeuil where Mary Cassatt spent the summer of 1890. The sitter was a frequent subject of Cassatt's work. The composition shows the intimacy of the mother-child relationship.
