Anaïs Folin, the artist's first wife, is holding their baby daughter. One of one hundred and eleven impressions of this state. When Anaïs posed for this plate, soon after their baby daughter was born, she was unable to stand for more than twenty minutes so Brockhurst needled directly on to the plate within that time.
